The Curriculum

Eight Courses. One Framework. Real Business Skills.

Every course here teaches a specific, practical piece of running a trade business — pricing, sales, hiring, marketing, systems, leadership, customer service, and the fundamentals trade school never covered. Work through one course to fix a specific problem, or all eight as the full curriculum inside the Accelerator.

Most trade business owners started their company because they were excellent at the actual work — the wiring, the pipe, the roof, the install. That skill got the business off the ground, but nobody ever taught the business side: how to price a job for real profit, how to hire and keep good people, how to build a marketing system that doesn't live or die on referrals, or how to build a company that runs without them standing on every jobsite. This curriculum exists to close that gap.

Every course below ties back to the same throughline: the shift from Technician (you're the best at the work, and the business runs because you personally do everything) to Manager (you build systems and a crew so the work doesn't only happen through you) to Owner (the business runs on systems and people, and you get paid to run the company — not the highest-paid technician on the crew). Some courses focus on the Technician-to-Manager shift — pricing, sales, hiring, systems. Others focus on the Manager-to-Owner shift — leadership, scaling, reputation as a growth engine. Business Foundations sits underneath all of it: the structural basics every trade business eventually needs, regardless of which stage you're in.

Courses are built to work through at your own pace and are written in plain language for people who are skilled tradespeople first, not business-school graduates. Pick the one course that addresses your most urgent problem, or explore the full eight-course curriculum through the Accelerator coaching program below.

A rough way to think about the order: if bidding and sales are inconsistent, start with The Close Rate Blueprint or The Profitable Pricing Blueprint — you can't fix growth or leadership problems on top of a business that's losing money on every job. Once pricing and sales are under control, Crew Builder and SystemizeIt address the operational side — hiring people you can trust and building the systems that let work happen without you standing over it. Lead Flow Machine and 5-Star Trade address how new business comes in the door and how your reputation compounds it. The Owner's Exit Ramp and Contractor Business Foundations round it out — leadership capacity and the structural basics underneath everything else. None of this is a mandatory sequence; most owners jump straight to whatever course solves their most painful problem right now.

The individual courses above are self-contained — work through the one that solves your most pressing problem, on your own schedule. The Accelerator bundles all eight courses into a structured coaching path with direct support from Josh, for owners who want accountability and guidance layered on top of the curriculum, not just the material by itself.
